Our cycle touring in Italy began in the Maritime Alps with some unexpectedly beautiful free camps high in the mountains before we descended for some flat plains riding along the Po river.

Cycling south towards Florence we spent a few days eating cherries and relaxing in Sassoleone before passing the 4000km mark and meeting up with Emma's parents for two weeks of the easy life staying in villas and travelling by car.

Our cycle route out of Italy took us via the stunning Piano Grande towards Ancona via a coast line in full summer holiday mode.
